Crazy Bird Lady Staged Reading
A fundraiser supporting Our Tern & JC Birds, who bring avian advocacy and nature education to Hudson County.
Join us for a special reading of the new comedy Crazy Bird Lady, written by Chris Widney and directed by Heather Wahl.
Crazy Bird Lady is a compelling and thought-provoking play that explores unexpected connection, mental health, and the quiet power of nature.
Set during a New Jersey bird migration, the story follows an elderly birdwatcher whose peaceful day in nature is suddenly interrupted by an overly medicated, possibly brilliant, and deeply troubled suburban teen. What begins as an unlikely encounter unfolds into a powerful exchange filled with humor, tension, and surprising moments of understanding.
This staged reading is part of an initiative to help protect Hoboken’s honorary bird, the Tern, and to raise awareness about the importance of local wildlife conservation.
