With profound compassion and lyricism, Pipeline brings an urgent conversation powerfully to the fore. Issues of class, race, parenting, and education in America come to the surface as we are left to question the structures that ultimately trap underserved communities.
Nya, an inner-city public high school teacher, is committed to her students but desperate to give her only son Omari opportunities they’ll never have. When a controversial incident at his upstate private school threatens to get him expelled, Nya must confront his rage and her own choices as a parent. But will she be able to reach him before a world beyond her control pulls him away?

Meet the team
is the author of The Detroit Project (A 3-Play Cycle) which includes the following plays: Skeleton Crew (Atlantic Theater Company), Paradise Blue (Signature Theatre), and Detroit ’67 (Public Theater, Classical Theatre of Harlem and NBT). Additional plays include: Pipeline (Lincoln Center Theatre), Sunset Baby (LAByrinth Theatre); Blood at the Root (National Black Theatre) and Follow Me To Nellie’s (Premiere Stages). She is also the TONY nominated book writer on the new Broadway musical Ain’t Too Proud – The Life and Times of the Temptations (Imperial Theatre). Dominique is alumna of The Public Theater Emerging Writer’s Group, Women’s Project Lab, and Lark Playwrights Workshop and has developed work at Sundance Lab, Williamstown Theatre Festival and Eugene O’Neil Playwrights Conference. She most recently served as Co-Producer on the Showtime series “Shameless” (3 seasons). Additional awards include: Spirit of Detroit Award, PoNY Fellowship, Sky-Cooper Prize, TEER Trailblazer Award, Steinberg Playwright Award, Audelco Awards, NBFT August Wilson Playwriting Award, Edward M. Kennedy Prize for Drama, OBIE Award (2), Ford Foundation Art of Change Fellowship, Variety’s Women of Impact for 2017-18, and a recent MacArthur Genius Grant Fellow.
is a multidisciplinary artist whose work as an actor, writer, director, and producer has been showcased and developed in many places, including FringeNYC; National Black Theater; The New Black Fest; The Moth Radio Hour; Project Y Theater; Flux Theater Ensemble; the Queerly Festival (of which he is now the curator), and The Fire This Time Festival, where he served as Producing Artistic Director for 5 years, winning an Obie for his work in 2015. Recent Directing Credits: The Last Five Years and Lady Day At Emerson’s Bar & Grill (Portland Stage); Topdog/Underdog (University of Arkansas); GLORY! (Dixon Place); The Fire This Time Festival 10th Anniversary World Premiere Play Festival; WINNER (Samuel French Off-Off-Broadway Play Festival). Kevin just appeared as Dr. Frans in the World Premiere of Wink at Marin Theater Company.
a Queens, NY native, is an actress and voiceover artist. Her stage credits include You Wouldn’t Expect, the award winning NYC Fringe play, Colorblind’d and a revival of David Rabe’s In The Boom Boom Room. Her screen credits include work on Daredevil, House of Cards, Law & Order: SVU and Bull. Next up, you can see Malikha in the new Hulu series Wu-Tang: An American Saga and on Search Party on TBS. A former radio personality on NYC’s Power 105.1, Malikha has voiced over 100 TV and radio commercials and can currently be heard narrating the TV One crime series Fatal Attraction. Malikha is a proud graduate of Spelman College.
is a first generation Cameroonian-American actor from the Washington D.C. area, currently based in New York City. He cultivated his immense passion for the craft while training at the Acting Studio NY. Recent credits include Ray Donovan and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
is an actor and voice over artist from Miami, Florida. Off-Broadway credits include: Bitter Greens (59E59 Theaters), The Grievance Club (Classic Stage Company). Other favorite roles: Lucy in You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown (Miami Stage Company) and Hermia in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Shakespeare’s Globe). She studied at Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University as well as at Shakespeare’s Globe. Jessica also starred in the film “Feast of the Seven Fishes” directed by Robert Tinnell, premiering in theaters this November.
is a New York City based actor, director, and theatre education administrator originally from Atlanta, GA. Marcus is the newly appointed Artistic Associate at Titan Theatre Company, where he is also a member of the resident acting company. has been acting in plays since his early youth. Most recently he has appeared in Theatre projects such as VtoX, A Soldiers Play and Aint No Sunshine. He can also be seen in countless TV appearances as well as consistent modeling in fitness, fashion and business magazines. Chadwick is also an accomplished Martial Artist who instructs local youth and adults in the Afro- Brazilian art of Capoeira. Chadwick would like to thank his parents and the entire cast, production and director.
has worked regionally at the Intiman Theatre in Seattle (World Premiere of Smash by Jeffrey Hatcher) and at the Franklin Stage Company as Helena in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. New York City: Lydie Breeze (New York Theatre Workshop), Cruel and Barbarous Treatment (Culture Project). At Mile Square Theatre she appeared in Love of the Game, Fantasy League, God of Carnage, Core Values and Vanya, Sonia, Masha, and Spike. Annie is the Education Director for Mile Square Theatre and teaches at Drew University and Hudson County Community College.
is a USA 829 Lighting Designer based in New Jersey. Credits include: (Mile Square Theatre) I and You, It’s a Wonderful Life, The 39 Steps, Betrayal, (Shakespeare Theater NJ) William Shakespeare’s Long Lost First Play, (10 Hairy Legs) The Heist, Cruise Control, Brian, Quadrivium, (Thingamajig Theatre Company) The Pillowman, Cabaret, The Little Mermaid, A Few Good Men. Jason was the Associate Lighting Design for the Off-Broadway production of Clever Little Lies and The Other Josh Cohen at Westside Theater, F***ing A at Signature Theater, The Producers and Benny and Joon at Paper Mill Playhouse, and Rags at Goodspeed Opera. He’s the lighting supervisor for 10 Hairy Legs and American Repertory Ballet, and has worked with Parson’s, Alonzo King Lines Ballet, Pat Graney, and Jose Limon, dance companies.
Designer, musician, and composer Frederick Kennedy’s recent theatrical work includes Native Son (The Acting Company), The Bacchae (Classical Theater of Harlem), The Veil-Widow Conspiracy (National Asian American Theater Company), 12th Night (Yale Repertory Theater), and Father Comes Home from the Wars, Parts 1, 2, & 3 (American Conservatory Theater). In addition to his work for theater, he has appeared on dozens of recordings; toured throughout North America and Europe, as well as to parts of South America, the Caribbean, and the South Pacific; and taught numerous classes in improvisation and sound design for multimedia as a guest artist at universities around the United States.
is a New York based designer and is pleased to return to Mile Square Theatre. Her work has been seen at Classic Stage Company, Lincoln Center Education, Park Avenue Armory, Theatre Row, NYTW’s Fourth Street Theatre, The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey and Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre, among others. Most recently, she designed for Broadway Backwards 2019, performed at the New Amsterdam Theatre and Phillip Howze’s Self Portraits at BRIC-Arts Media. As an Assistant, Natalie has worked on the National Tours of NETworks’ Dirty Dancing and Elf, The Musical, Irish Repertory Theatre regionally at The American Players Theatre, Illinois Shakespeare Festival and The Ohio Light Opera. Upcoming, she will design Gem of the Ocean at her alma mater, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Natalie is a proud member of USA Local 829.
